We all love to work on puzzles! As kids, we had wooden puzzles with shaped pieces that fit into cutouts on the puzzle board. We also had cardboard jigsaw puzzles with large pieces that slowly revealed the complete picture. iBabyMobile has created the PuzzleKid series of puzzles, which recreates on the iPhone and iPod touch the types of simple puzzles enjoyed by young (and young at heart) puzzle fans.
Each PuzzleKid app contains several puzzles to fit together; PuzzleKid has 25 puzzles, while PuzzleKid Sports and PuzzleKid Animals each have 30 puzzles. Each puzzle has a number of pieces. As you start each puzzle, the pieces are in a group alongside the puzzle image, waiting to be fitted. And fitting the pieces couldn't be easier: just touch each piece, drag it to where you think it should fit on in the puzzle image, then let it go. If you've found the right place, the piece fits snugly into place; if you're mistaken, then the piece floats back to the group where you picked it up. Nobody's keeping score, so you can try as many times with any of the pieces as you like, until all of the pieces are fitted. You can easily go to a different puzzle whether you've finished the one you're working on or not. And if you want to start a puzzle over, just shake! You can even hear the puzzle pieces "falling" out of the puzzle image as they return to their starting positions. (And yes, you can adjust or mute the volume of the sound effects for those environments where the sounds would be inappropriate or distracting.)
And that's it! Nothing too complicated to figure out, so even the youngest puzzle solver will be able to become a proficient puzzle piece pusher pronto! Let's look at the lineup of PuzzleKid apps.
Having PuzzleKid on your iPhone or iPod touch is like having a stack of twenty-five wooden cutout puzzles at your fingertips! Each puzzle, an original work of kid-friendly art, has four, five, or more pieces that can be placed to fill the "holes" and complete the image. Just like in wooden puzzles, the shapes of the pieces match the shapes of the "holes," which helps the youngest puzzle workers to learn shape matching.

If you are looking for an easy jigsaw puzzle "workout" for your iPhone or iPod touch, then PuzzleKid Sports is for you! Thirty colorful line illustrations of various sporting activities have each been cut into nine interlocking pieces, ready for you or your younger puzzle solver to put together. While the completed image is available as a background guide to placing the pieces, for an added challenge you can hide the background and fit the pieces together on a blank surface.

Like PuzzleKid Sports, PuzzleKid Animals gives you or your child thirty jigsaw puzzles for your iPhone or iPod touch. As the name implies, the puzzles in PuzzleKid Animals are colorful line illustrations of familiar and exotic animals. The puzzles are broken into nine pieces, and the background guide image can be hidden just as with PuzzleKid Sports. Imagine how much fun this could be for the kids on a trip to the zoo!
